MDDN 243: Final Hand In Done!

So that's it. Finally done.

This week has been so crazy, trying to finish the last few things.

The things I have worked on:
-Fixing up the overlay. We went through quite a few stages with this. Henrie did the first stage, but that took up too much valuable screen space, so Connor shrunk it down. Then we managed to get the mini map working, so I adjusted it to fit that (shown below). I made it square so that it would fit the mini map better as we couldn't get it to work with a circle.
Then we found a way around that, (making the mini map background invisible) so I changed it to a circle so it didn't look as bulky and out of place.

-I also sorted out the waves (which Connor went on to balance out a bit because I got a bit carried away with the amount of enemies.....).
-I remade all of the home screen buttons, so they are now the same size an colour and don't overlap which caused problems with changing scenes earlier
-Made the mini map (which involved taking a behaviour from stencyl forge and reworking it to include multiple enemies).
-Made a few of the shooting sounds.
-Made the high score counter and made it save so scores are kept when you close the game, which was a mission and a half thanks to a bug in stencyl that doesn't count numbers in arrays properly.....
-Made 6 different kinds of bullets, and got them to switch as you get a higher score through the game.
-Made the counter for the amount of enemies shot in a round and the hit/miss ratio. Also got all of these numbers to print on the final score screen.
-Made the sprites for the bullet and speed boost power ups.
-Made the final trailer for our game (linked in another post).
And a bunch of general bug and glitch fixing and adjustments to enemy speed etc.

So it's finished, and I'm really happy with the final result. I think we achieved what we set out to achieve, and all of our hard work was worth it.

A huge thanks to my awesome team who were amazing throughout the whole process!
